GT. WRATTING NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

We have been members of NW for many years. In the early days, messages about any local crime was by word of mouth, and often failed. It only took one person to break the chain of delivery. Today, with personal computers  and police and government initiatives, the amount of information individually available is almost overwhelming.

For those new to the village the following will be useful –
Suffolk Police Websitewww.suffolk.police.uk
Suffolk NWA Newsletter – see above website.
Haverhill NW Newsletter produced by the Community Watch Liaison Officer.

ALWAYS call 999 for an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE to an EMERGENCY

  A MESSAGE FROM YOUR COORDINATOR.
Compared to Haverhill, rural crime is small so the greatest danger we face is complacency. The police are clear that our NW signs are a deterrent to a prospective burglar or vandal but, without real neighbourliness and sensible individual precautions, these are rendered ineffective.
My concern, now, is for the people in this village who do not use PCs and will therefore need some neighbourly assistance from those who have.
Please check with your  neighbours to see if they would like you to download and print out useful information on a regular basis. My offer to deliver this has met with no response, but I am sure that your show of neighbourly concern would be appreciated. Thanks.
It would be helpful if any crime, or attempted crime in the village was reported to me as well as to the police. I shall be contributing on a regular basis to the Village Newsletter in this capacity.
